The U.S. Department of Agriculture, in the WASDE report of June 2016, shows for the season 2016-17 the estimates of a slightly increasing production for Corn (1011.8 Mio t, +0.7 Mio t) and a slightly decreasing production for Soybean (323.7 Mio t, -0.5 Mio t).
For Brazil, one of the major Producers and Exporters of Corn and Soybeans, is expected a reduction in exports, due to lower production in the current season (2015-16), resulting from an early end to the rainy season. Reduced Corn production in Brazil and harvest delays in Argentina have improved the competitiveness of the U.S.. The U.S. export projection is raised at 51.7 Mio t for Corn and 49.5 Mio t for Soybeans.
Global Corn ending stocks are projected at 205.1 Mio t, lower than last month estimates, mainly reflecting the decrease in the U.S. due to higher exports. Also Soybean stocks are lowered at 66.31 Mio t.
